Customer Reviews

Very Satisfied! by J. Les Gainous
I’ve had this grip for five months now and am very happy with it. It looks good on my Canon EOS 40D body and the batteries last forever (more than 2400 shots between charges). The grip feels good and makes it easier for me to hold and carry the camera. I can also rest the side of my left hand/palm against it, when using my long 300mm lens, for further steadiness.

When turned to portrait orientation, the extra dial and shutter button work well and feel very close to the same as the main dial and button.

Pleasantly Surprized by Mr. Louw
Having read mixed emotion-reviews about this products, I have to admit I was pretty nervous about this product as I decided to purchase it.

But I charged the batteries, slipped them into the cartridge, screwed it on and tried it out. My worst fear about purchasing the product then came true, it did not realease the shutter. I then realized it had it’s own on/off switch, flipped it to “on” (duh!!) and it works perfectly.

The battery pack fits tighly to the 40D body, absolutely no movement.

It feels solid in my hand and I am a satified customer.

The batteries still have to prove their worth as I’ll be putting them through their paces this weekend.

Summary:

Works as adverised, feels sturdy, everything I hoped for.

Terrible, don’t buy it by D. J. Erickson
This piece of junk doesn’t work - it only shows a quarter of battery life no matter if you use brand new batteries, and then it works for about six minutes. Not good if you have to get the shot, like I did, and miss it. DO NOT buy this, you will regret it.

Bad choice by S. Nelson
I too bought this grip. (ordered Dec. 6th) First one fit, didn’t work, so I called 47th streets cust service (Dec 13th),I was given a return auth. and I had to pay shipping for the return. Didn’t see the replacement until I called (Dec. 24th). The replacement came out 2nd day air (Dec. 31st), it too was faulty. This time (December 31st) I called a supervisor @ 47th St. He told me these were never really made for the 40D, and should pay the additional $ for the Canon brand. I told him to go ahead and ship me the Canon one. He also told me he was sending a shipping label with it so I would not have to pay to have #2 returned. I am still waiting patiently for the Canon grip. Today is January 2. 47th Street Photo promised next day shipping on the Canon brand, and said they would pay for shipping for the returned non-working unit. Haven’t seen either yet. Overall the “cheaper version” has cost me about $40.00 in shipping alone. I’ve never been unhappy with a Amazon vendor before.
